Here's me singing Sleep. I actually wrote O-M-G, hopefully for the last time in public ever.
It's a dream come true to be part of this choir, as I have never been part of one. And it's such a striking, poetic moment when you see that and then when you hear it.
January 6th, videos from 50 countries. A very small number of audio tracks were discarded due to technical errors in recording or upload. My name is Eric Whitacre. I wonder your thoughts on why you think it affects people so much when they see the video and they hear it, especially together.

We'll need at least singers, so all of you are invited. The technical cross-checking continues. You know, it's the oldest instrument we have, the human voice.
And I've just chosen a few of them here. Aside from the beautiful music, it's great just to know I'm part of a worldwide community of people I never met before but who are connected anyway.
And I think it makes people feel a sense of wonderment about the technology, which maybe doesn't happen every day. For the radio audience, for the listening audience, can you please describe what that video looks like for people?

Eric previewed the Virtual Choir 2 as a guest speaker at the TED conference in Long Beach, California in February and received the first full standing ovation of the whitaxre. Fly to Paradise Partially funded through Kickstarter, 'Fly to Paradise' includes videos featuring singers from countries!
And I sent out this call to singers and I made free the download of the music to a piece that I'd written in the yearcalled Lux Aurumque, which means light and gold. For the next version of the Virtual Choir we will sing Sleep, and this time around, we're shooting for the Guinness title of world's largest internet choir.
I feel a closeness to this choir, almost like a family. We hope you enjoy it!

And I had this idea. At the same time, we had to reverse geocode each entry so that we had a country for everyone. Water Night Launched at erix Lincoln Center, New York in a live online webcast and revealed on YouTube in April ; then mastered for bespoke audio-visual installations.
The Erkc group became very busy with lots of contributors trying to get their video uploaded before the original deadline. May 17, 1: Sleep Released in April and was met with a staggering response, incorporating singers from 58 countries and from all walks of life, including 9 year olds to senior citizens. I said, thank you Scott, I'm so glad that you found me.

And my personal favorite: But I know myself, too, I feel this virtual esprit de corps, if you will, with all of them. Our last TED Talk tells the story of one man who has helped unite thousands of people around the world in perfect harmony. This, in turn, generated lots more interest in the Virtual Choir. Whitacre has stated that he prefers the Silvestri text over the original and will therefore not republish the music with the Frost poem, even after They're all singing at the same tempo.
